Bruce Neuman, Marge Ripke and Drew Davidsen

Nyame Nti - Bruce Neumann
                "By God's grace"
A symbol of faith and trust in God.

In 2004 Bruce Neumann made his first trip to Ghana, answering a strong call from God. Ghana captured his heart and he was instrumental in bringing Ghanaian Mother's Hope to life. He has been a board member since its inception in 2005. Bruce, a "hands on" guy, oversees building and construction projects. He has painted walls, built a latrine, painted ceilings, repaired playgrounds, and been the trouble shooter on many projects. Additionally, as a lover of children, he assists at reading camp in ways big and small. When the first preschool was open, Bruce became the official "escapee collector". He would bring the children back to the classroom when they decided to walk home.
Having made seven trips to Ghana, with more to come, Bruce's enthusiasm for Ghanaian Mothers' Hope has spread to others as well. In 2007 he was instrumental in convincing his wife to join the mission team. His son, Zach, soon joined the team as well. Now Zach brings teen volunteers to Ghana each summer to work on the reading camp team. His daughter, Meghan, has also gone to work in health care. Several other missioners joined teams because of Bruce's passion for the Ghanaian people we serve. As a Servant's servant, Bruce is truly dedicated to working with the people of Ghana to share love and resources to empower its future leaders.

Nyame Ye Ohene - Marge Ripke
                         "God is King "
A symbol of majesty and supremacy of God

Marge Ripke is a small, demure, hard working, relentless wonderful person! She gives of herself very freely and listens hard to what God is asking her to do. She is very active in her "retirement" and does not know what that word means. Instead, she has retired into whatever God has asked of her.
Her first challenge from God was a calling to go to Ghana as part of Ghanian Mother's Hope. The thought of traveling to Ghana was very much out of her comfort zone. But she is a lover of children and taught elementary school for many years. So when the focus of the GMH's trip was to work at a preschool in Akramaman she felt she had the gifts needed to be of service in this project, and that God was calling her to do this. She loved being with the children in the small African village and came back inspired to continue to help them. Through Marge, Trinity Church has sponsored 4 children at the preschool and each month there is a collection of goods needed in the villages.
She is active on the Trinity Church altar guild, is the chairperson of the Thrift Shop, is on the social committee, just finished a 3 year term on the vestry and works with a group called Dream Builders. Her leadership, dedication, and love are evident in all that she does. If you need a helping hand all you have to do is ask Marge. She is a gift!!

Nyame Birbi Wo Sorno - Drew Davidsen
                     “God is in the Heavens”
A reminder that God's dwelling place

Drew Davidsen has been promoting GMH and its mission as our first corporate sponsor to commit to regular monetary donations. He has made a tithe of his music sales for the past four years. His personal mission statement, "Inspiring and empowering others to excellence through the joy of music," was a natural fit with the goals of GMH. Through his recent commitment to go in person Drew has been able to bring attention to simple things that can help children all over Africa become all they can be

Most of you already know about the coloring project, "The Secret to Being Strong" This adorable little book at first designed for the children of Haiti to help them learn how to avoid germs worms and parasites after their recent tragedies was redrawn for the children of Ghana. Well that little secret- became a lot stronger when Drew Davidsen wrote a catchy song to share with the children along with their coloring books and crayons.

Then synergy happened. Drew figured he needed to BE VISIBLY strong if he was going to Ghana to share with children about how THEY could be strong and he retuned to his gym with a serious purpose in his heart.

Drew is a wonderful ambassador for us. He takes stories of Ghanaian Mothers' Hope and its commitment to empowering the future leaders of Africa with him wherever he goes in the world with his jazz music. Drew Davidsen demonstrates the joy of living for a cause greater than himself.
